Dear Parents,

Before updating you on what to expect for the upcoming month,
I wanted to take this opportunity to introduce myself as the
proud new teacher at Blue Quill Playschool. I am excited to get to
know each and every one of you throughout the year, and want
you to know that Ms. Lindsay and I are working very hard at
making sure that this transition goes as smoothly as possible.

Transition aside, there is lots of excitement to look forward to
this month! We will be exploring the themes of Thanksgiving,
Pumpkins and Halloween. There will be discussions on what it means
to be thankful, the things we are thankful for and the different
ways people do or don’t celebrate Thanksgiving. Hopefully this will
help us to cultivate a year-round attitude of gratitude and a
knowing of how lucky we are. There will be lots of Halloween &
Pumpkin themed activities designed to help your children develop
their fine motor skills through cutting and colouring. You will slowly
start to see our Playhouse turn into a spooky haunted house,
decorated with the classes’ creations.

We will also be having our first Yoga and Music classes of the
year. On yoga days, please be sure to send your children to school
in clothing and footwear they can comfortably move in.

For class photos, JR Photography will be providing you with
proofs of individual and class photos within about a week of
Picture Day. In order to receive your photo packages within a
timely manner, please be sure to make your orders and pay
before the deadline they provide. I will post this deadline for you
as soon as they specify a date for us.

What would Halloween be without a class party?! On the mornings
of our class Halloween parties, please send your children to school
in their regular playschool attire. We will be starting our morning
business as usual. Parents will be invited to arrive back at the
playschool at 10:15 to dress their own children in their costumes.
Once everyone is dressed up, we will have a celebration in our
classroom. To complete our party, we will be needing some
delicious (and nutritious!) snacks. Closer to the dates, we will be
posting a Party Snack list for volunteers from each class. Thank
you in advance for your contributions!

Thank you all for being so welcoming already. Please feel free to
email me at if you ever have any
questions or concerns!

Ms. Sarah
