November and December 2015 Newsletter

Just a reminder that our one and only fundraising night is coming up on
Friday, November 27th. The committee has worked hard to put together
this special evening in support of Blue Quill Playschool. Please make sure
your tickets are purchased and your items are handed in. We look forward
to seeing you all at the Canadian Brewhouse on Ellerslie Road.

December is of course, a very busy month with all the festivities. I wanted
to give you all advance notice of our special tradition at the playschool.
Instead of having a Christmas party, we have what I call a Christmas
workshop. On Tuesday, December 15 and Wednesday, December 16 the
children will be asked to each bring one adult as a special guest. This could
be a Mom, Dad, Grandma, Grandpa, Aunt, Uncle, etc... together they will
spend a morning of fun putting together special crafts that can be used as
gifts and after there will be a special snack time.It is absolutely essential
that everyone arrive at 8:45 on the dot so that we have time to fit in all
activities. I will send out an invitation in early December as a reminder.

Thursday, December 17th and Friday, December 18th, our last two days of
school before the holidays, will be quiet but fun days. Everyone, including
teachers and helping parents will be invited to wear their pyjamas to
school. We will watch a few Christmas movies and eat popcorn and juice.
Therefore no need to bring snacks that day.

Another tradition we have at Blue Quill is to introduce the children to the
concept of doing a little giving during the month of December. This of
course a time where they are focused on getting new things. We will talk
about the children of Edmonton who do not have enough warm clothes to
get them through the winter and we will invite the children to bring either
newly purchased or gently used but clean items. We will have a display up
in December where the children can proudly add their offerings.

The Christmas Holidays start Saturday, December 19th. We return to
school Monday, January 4th.

Teresa and I join together in wishing all the Blue Quill Playschool families a
wonderful and safe holiday season. Above all enjoy your little ones, believe
me, they grow up and leave the house very quickly. Put aside the the
craziness of the season and take in the magic of your child’s imagination.

All the best,

Louise
