June 2016 Newsletter

To my cherished Blue Quill Playschool family: Thank you for supporting me through this last very difficult week of my life. My husband’s brother and only sibling passed away unexpectedly on Sunday, May 29th. Many of you stepped up to help Mrs. Teresa without a moment’s notice. Mrs Teresa took over the teaching and did an amazing job. On Saturday, June 4th, a beautiful fruit bouquet and chocolate covered fruit tray were delivered to our home . A beautiful gift from Blue Quill Playschool. As it turns out, the family had gathered at our house to celebrate what would have been Ed’s 65th birthday. You reduced us to tears. You are all wonderful people. Thank you.

We will be done school in 2 short weeks. I would like to thank the incredible team that supported me through a sometimes tumultuous year. First of all Ali Wilson (Julia), despite a demanding full time job, Ali took on a load that would have knocked over the president of a major company. Marla Sochacki (Zavier), Patricia Devaney (Sophia & Alejandro), Carrie Gotzke (Sean), Tanya Orr (Grace), Luis Guitierrez (Leia), Nicola Clayton (Leo), Beena Kotak (Eshan), & Lori McCurdy (Emily). Our school is a parent co-op. So, I thank not only the Board of Directors, but also all of you, for contributing to yet another successful year at Blue Quill PS. Our year end parties will happen Thursday, June 16 and Friday, June 17 at the Fun Place and Cafe. Address is 3663-99 St and we will be there from 9 to 11 a.m. Siblings are welcome to join us. Because the children will have access to two bouncy castles, they must wear socks. We will serve snacks and juice and I understand the cafe sells a delicious cup of coffee.

We will be in the classroom for the last time on Wednesday, June 15th. Please clear out the children’s lockers and bring home their indoor shoes. Any items left behind will be donated to charity.

I thank Teresa for her support. She is has proven to be an immeasurable asset to the playschool in the 2 years we have had her with us.

We say good bye and shed tears for the precious children that are leaving us at the end of this school year. We look forward to seeing everyone else in September. Have a wonderful summer!

With much love and gratitude,
