Blue Quill Playschool aims to provide a safe, affordable, high quality educational program where children have opportunities to create, think, explore, and discover through play in a nurturing environment. Since play is an important aspect of childhood, it is instrumental in the social, emotional, physical, and intellectual development of children.
Our program is play-based and provides a friendly, fun environment in which preschool aged children can acquire social skills. Our playschool runs September to June and follows the Edmonton Public Schools Calendar. We offer children's yoga as well as music.
We are a cooperative Playschool: parents are required to do parent helper days, hold a volunteer position, and fund raise to help run the playschool.
Parent Helper days - Helping in the classroom an average of once per 5 to 7 weeks. This allows you to participate in your child's program and helps fulfill the licensing requirements for the number of adults needed in the classroom.
Volunteering - All parents will be given a job to do for the class. A complete list of positions is part of the registration package.
Fundraising - Fundraising is essential for the playschool to operate at peak potential and provide the highest level of learning for the children. All parents are required to participate in fundraising.
More information can be found in our Parent Handbook
